Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs are a lot of fun!  There are so many different ways to do this event.  I always meet with my client in order to tailor the music and the events for this kind of celebration.  I have an event planning worksheet which my clients receive ahead of time.  I encourage people to think about and write down the music they want to hear and or dance to.  Most people like a mix of newer and older music and I haven’t played for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah yet that didn’t include the hora and the traditional Jewish chair dance!  There is no wrong OR /right way to do this.
Keeping an ear on the music choices and volume is an important part of my job at a Bar or Bat Mizvah.  I always need to “read” the crowd and be prepared to change the tempo when necessary.  I also censor my music and do not play any songs that have a parental advisory warning on it.  I also try to avoid playing songs with objectionable content that is obvious to the listener (see article).  There is soooo much tasteful music available to choose from (I have a growing list of over 38,000 songs).

I always work closely with the caterer, photographer and videographer during the event because we all have to be on the same page to give you the best experience on your child’s special day.
I’ve got a sweet gift for you if you’re planning a Bar/Bat Mitzvah Celebration.  Call to find out what it is.
